Beth Williams, le Gai Soleil :

"If we all still want to ski in Megeve in 50 years from now, there is only one path to follow: "one world, one way"."

Mr Stephane Vidoni, le Chalet de l’ancolie :

“Sustainable development is already part of our daily life, for our consumption and the education of our children. Sharing these values with our customers is now obvious. Today’s practices make the world of tomorrow, the world of our children and that’s what leads and motivates us."

Mr Deschamps, La Prairie :

“Our environmental approach has one goal: the full well-being of our customers.”

Mr. Pascal Chapelland, l’Igloo :

"I’m not an activist ecologist but I have the firm conviction that we must preserve our environment by personal ethic, but also because I’m convinced that tomorrow’s tourism industry needs the involvement of services providers and professionals."

Mr. Vito Della Libera, Le Manège :
Environment Convention
www.hotel-le-manege.com

“Aware that one of the most important stakes of the immediate future is the protection of our planet, we have initiated an environmental approach, in order to apply it to the running of the hotel."

Mrs. Susie Duvillard, La Demi-Lune :
Environment Convention
www.lademilune.com

"Protection of the environment has already been a daily practice for many years in United States. As a result, I’m used to sort my waste. I try to do my best to protect our environment in Megeve: to recover rainwater, to use low consumption light bulbs etc. If a number of us follow the same way, it will benefit to everybody."

Mr. Frédéric Goasdoue, Maeva Mont D’Arbois :
Environment Convention
www.maeva.com

“My motivation is to combine the environmental quality of our location with the economic obligations of a manager. In others words, it is to succeed the tourism integration without damaging our environment.”

Environmental measures involving hotels

Since April 2007, we have been working with hosts in the village to help them set up environmental systems in their establishments. This is a test scheme which will close on 4 July and will then be opened up to all hoteliers and hosts. The scheme has three stages:

-An inventory -A reflection on what actions to implement -The implementation and dissemination of actions.

These 3 meetings are personalised. We have chosen to use this approach due to the disparity of hotels in Megève. As well as these 3 meetings, there will be regular environmental coffee meetings for an open discussion of the actions carried out and their effectiveness. Professionals will be present during these meetings to best advise our partners. The first environmental coffee meeting will take place on 4 July. Megève Tourisme’s role in this scheme is to provide the necessary hotels to hotels to implement it.
